There are a variety of ways to get involved in the lives of others within the body of believers here at Redeemer Community Church. Here are some of them.

Home Group Cookout

A home group has anywhere between 10-15 people of different ages, genders, and stages of life. Our goal is for these groups to be your community within the greater community of Redeemer. They are to be a place where you will be known and loved. These groups meet at night in people's homes scattered around the city. During these times, you will get to know one another, pray for one another, and discuss some of the things you heard on Sunday. This will give you a chance to interact with others about the message and decide what difference if any should it make in your life. What concrete ways can this message take shape in the coming weeks? Each group also shares a monthly meal and communion with one another. Our community groups are the heart of Redeemer.

Home groups meet on either Wednesday or Thursday nights.

Women's Ministry

Otium Sanctum is the name the women of RCC chose for the women's group that meets the second Tuesday of every month. It is Latin for "holy leisure" and was used by the church fathers to describe how one should try to pace and structure all of life, so that it is conducive for worship. The women of RCC have embraced this term. Our mothers, wives, and singles gather together to share ideas with one another about how to provide a worshipful environment for the home by stimulating God-given creativity, matching beautiful form with practical function, creating order in the midst of chaos, and how to make the home a place of rest. This group meets 7:30pm at the Brooks' home on the first Tuesday of the month. The Brooks' address is 5804 5th Terrace South, Birmingham, AL 35212 ph# 592-4566. They would love for you to join them.

Kid's Ministry

RCC has a small, but growing nursery and children's ministry. We believe that the best way to educate children is through the education of the parents, so we work hard to teach parents not just the Bible stories, but meaning, and how all of scripture is abut the gospel. During our Sunday evening worship service, we encourage children 5-9 to come to the first part of our service, so they can become familiar with the songs, creeds, and confessions. We want to work this into their heart at an early age, and we think it is valuable to have families worship together. They are then free to go to our children's worship. We use Desiring God's children curriculum which is fantastic. Each week, the children will learn a new bible story and memory verse and then sing songs. Children's ministry is a priority at RCC and all of our members take part in this ministry throughout the year.
