Week of June 30

June 30 | Common Meal
Christians have made it a priority to regularly share meals together since the early days of the Church. In 2008, during the first Sunday worship service of Redeemer Community Church, we shared a meal together, praying that the Lord would bless us as we sought to live like the family of God. So, we have kept up the rhythm of gathering for Common Meal on the last Sunday of some months. For the 9 a.m. service, please come early for breakfast. Food will be served following the 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. services.

July 10 at 7 p.m. | Theological Talkback at Avon Theater
Join us for our final summer Theological Talkback series in the spiritual disciplines. We’ll meet at the Avon Theater in Lakeview, and get started at 7 p.m. Beeson Divinity School professor Dr. Doug Webster will be teaching on The Psalms: Jesus’ Prayer Book. His focus will be to get more of the Psalms into our diet — good healthy food for the growing Christian. Michael Pollan says, “The quieter the food, likely the healthier the food.” His recommendation: “Eat food, not too much, mostly plants, Eat real food.” My recommendation: Pray the Psalms, discover their wisdom and power. Embrace their intensity. Pray the Psalms. The format is 45 minutes of teaching followed by a time of Q&A.

Join us Saturday, July 13 at 6:30 p.m. for our first women’s Fellowship Dinner! This will be a time for 8-10 women to gather in one another’s home for a shared meal, fellowship and encouragement.
