Philippians Reading & Study Plan

11-Weeks // Self-directed

At the beginning of the year, we started a new sermon series on the book of Philippians! A few of our team members put together a reading and study plan with some helpful tools designed to equip you to glean more from your study of God’s Word. It is our earnest hope that the Lord uses this study to deepen your understanding of God’s Word and your heart’s affections for Christ in the months ahead.

The study covers eleven weeks and is available as a PDF.

From the Inside Out: Why Your Heart Matters More Than What You Do

6-Weeks // Tuesday Evenings at 6:30 PM // Starting January 19th  // Limited In-Person Attendance

From an early age, we learn to attune ourselves to what is outside of us. We become experts at reading the room, looking for what is expected and then meeting that expectation so that we will be loved by others and protected from pain. Even the Christian life can be focused on learning and doing the right thing, the expected thing, leaving us hoping our hearts will catch up with our behavior. But behavior doesn’t change a heart. It reveals it.

Scripture calls us to a more congruent life – one lived from the inside out, where our heart is connected to God’s heart, and we respond to others – not out of duty or self-protection – but out of an overflow of what we have received from Him.

Join us as Julie Sparkman leads a six week class on looking at life from the inside out, beginning January 19th.

Limited to 50 attendees in our Avondale sanctuary.

Women’s Study: 'In His Image' by Jen Wilkin

7-Weeks // Thursday Mornings from 9:30 – 11 AM // Starting January 14th  // Limited In-Person Attendance

In these turbulent political times, Christians have been searching for answers to big questions. What is God’s will for my life? What are we to think? What are we to do?

Jen Wilkins asks a different question. Who should I be? Thankfully, the Bible has an answer: Be like the very image of God.

By exploring ten characteristics of who God is―holy, loving, just, good, merciful, gracious, faithful, patient, truthful, and wise―this book helps us understand who God intends for us to be. Through Christ, the perfect reflection of the image of God, we will discover how God’s own attributes impact how we live, leading to freedom and purpose as we follow his will and are conformed to his image. This study will be led by Sheree McCall.

Limited attendance in our Avondale sanctuary.
