Out of My Distress: How (Not) to be a Disciple

Mark 14:26–31

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. What stands out to you most in the Scripture passage?

  2. Are there any ways you resonate with or are even encouraged by the disciples’ failure?

  3. What does it practically look like for us to listen to God regardless of whether we like what he has to say?

  4. Is there anywhere in your life where you’ve been ignoring or unwilling to listen

    to God lately?

  5. In Mark 14, the disciples only seem to hear God's words about their failure (v. 27) and
not his comforting words of grace (v.28). Is there anything keeping you from hearing God’s words of comfort?

  6. Read Psalm 118:1-3. In what ways should the Lord’s steadfast love be the
    basis for our obedience?

  7. Take some time to pray through Psalm 118:1-9, 15-24 as a group.
