We've all seen people misread and misuse the Bible. Some have even used scripture to justify terrible things like slavery or genocide. How are we to avoid doing the same? How are 21st-century followers of Jesus supposed to relate to this diverse collection of documents God has given us?
There's no easy formula for reading and interpreting scripture, but in this five-part course, we will dive into the major questions of Biblical interpretation and consider what it means to read the Bible well. We'll discuss the habits and skills that lead to responsible study and identify the all-too-common interpretive fallacies that we all hope to avoid.
This class meets on Wednesdays at 6:30 AM and starts on June 2nd. It is expected to last five weeks and will meet at 4th & Spring.
