Short-Term Trips
Through short-term mission trips, members at Redeemer can visit global partners to strengthen existing work to make the gospel known in word and deed. Members of Redeemer can sign up for one of our churchwide mission trips to Perú, Northern Cyprus, or Turkey.

Sending at Redeemer
Our church is committed to assessing, developing, and affirming church members to be sent to establish and strengthen churches among the nations.

Jonathan & Katie Doub serve at New Life Church, a local congregation that the Doubs planted in the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus. Together, they run various ministry outreaches in the city and are working to invest in local believers to lead the church.

The W family is part of a team working to establish healthy, enduring local expressions of the body in North Africa. Before moving to North Africa, they were a member of Redeemer and were sent with a team from several like-minded churches in Birmingham. They are focused on establishing and building up the local body through faithful membership, discipleship, and tent-making work in the local language among a people unreached with the gospel.

Bekah Leary is a member of Danube International Church in Budapest, Hungary, and serves with ReachGlobal. Bekah leads the university student fellowship at her church, as well as other gospel initiatives to help international students in Budapest hear the gospel and grow more rooted in their faith. She was previously a member at Redeemer before being sent overseas.

The E Family serves in the Middle East, where they are raising their children and are focused on local evangelism and discipleship among the majority Muslim population. They’re part of a local church in an international city on the Mediterranean coast.

Aaron & Halley Hutchens serve with Saga Bible Church in Japan with their four daughters. The Hutchens were sent by Redeemer and have invested the past several years learning Japanese while supporting a Japanese church planter connected with Redeemer City to City.

The K Family serves in the Middle East, where they’ve spent the past several years raising their children in a cross-cultural context while learning Arabic, serving in an international church, and using medicine to minister to refugees. They were previously members at Redeemer before being sent overseas.

Derek and Lauren Webber are serving in Chogoria, Kenya, through a partnership with PCEA Chogoria Hospital. Derek works as a Physician Assistant in the hospital’s Casualty Department, consulting with Clinical Officers, leading staff trainings, and co-leading ACLS/BLS courses. He and Lauren also support the hospital chaplains in outreach within the hospital and local community. Lauren co-leads Chogoria Mission School, a homeschool co-op for missionary kids, and serves through hospitality and children’s ministry. They have four children: Lucy, Olive, Jack, and Ivy.

Phillip & Morgan have spent several years in the Middle East, where they’ve learned Arabic and are ministering among a minority Muslim group in their country. Morgan was originally sent from Redeemer and met Phillip while serving overseas. After they were married, they returned to the Middle East and have continued to serve among unreached people groups.

Patrick & Joy have served in Southeast Asia since 2014. They’re currently raising their three children, working among the Buddhist people in campus ministry, and discipling national believers to participate in the Great Commission.

Sarah Dunn is a member of Redeemer Community Church in Birmingham and serves with Engineering Ministries International (EMI). First sent out by Redeemer in 2011, Sarah worked in Uganda as an architect, partnering with Christian hospitals, universities, non-profits, and churches across East Africa while mentoring interns from around the world. After several years serving with Medair in South Sudan and Ukraine, she returned to Birmingham in 2023 to lead EMI’s Disaster Response Program. In this role, she supports international Christian organizations and local churches affected by disasters, coordinating global response teams and volunteer architects and engineers.

Not Forgotten is a Christ-centered ministry in Iquitos, Perú, founded and led by Tyler and Allison Fuqua. After an early mission trip to the Amazon, Tyler felt burdened by the needs of vulnerable street children—leading the Fuquas to launch Not Forgotten to provide long-term, holistic care for boys affected by homelessness.
Through gospel-centered discipleship, education, vocational training, and trauma-informed care, Not Forgotten restores hope and dignity to the boys they serve. Their 100-acre campus and dedicated local team offer a sustainable, family-style environment for healing and growth.
Redeemer members can partner with Not Forgotten through prayer, giving, or by joining a short-term mission team—especially those passionate about serving children with compassion and depth.

New Life Church, led by Jonathan and Katie Doub, is a strategic global partner located in Girne, Northern Cyprus. Over the past nine years, the Doubs have nurtured a diverse, Spirit-led church that reflects the unity and beauty of the global body of Christ.
Situated near the Middle East, Europe, and North Africa, New Life is uniquely positioned to support gospel work across regions. It also serves as a potential mid-term landing spot for missionary candidates preparing for long-term service in challenging contexts.
Redeemer members can support the Doubs and New Life Church through prayer, giving, or participating in short-term mission trips.

Reaching & Teaching is a trusted sending agency that partners with local churches to train leaders, send missionaries, and establish healthy churches around the world.
Through this partnership, Redeemer supports the expansion of gospel efforts—particularly among unreached peoples and in global cities.
Redeemer members can get involved by participating in a summer practicum or considering long-term service with Reaching & Teaching.
