  1. Joel mentioned that the end of Ezekiel is one of the hardest sections of Scripture to comprehend. What habits or tools help you when you hit a hard passage in the Bible?

  2. How have you personally experienced the “misery” of living as an exile in this world, away from our ultimate home? 

  3. How can Ezekiel’s vision of our eternal home, prepared by God, strengthen us for our present lives?

  4. Read Ezekiel 47:1-12.  What in this passage most sticks out to, encourages, confuses, or challenges you?

  5. For what does your soul most frequently or most strongly thirst? What do you find yourself thinking will satisfy these thirsts?

  6. Jesus asserts that Ezekiel 47 is about him, saying “if anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink” (John 7:37-39).  How might Jesus provide the ultimate satisfaction for the things for which you thirst?

  7. Read Ezekiel 48:35. Why is the presence of the Lord the greatest thing about our eternal home and how should that shape our longing today?
