  2. In Isaiah 58:2 the Israelites appear devoted to him, yet God is displeased with them. What does this reveal to us about how God desires to be worshipped?

  3. Have you ever experienced a season in which your relationship with God seemed disingenuous or like a facade? What led (or is currently leading) to that disconnect?

  4. How does Isaiah 58 lead us from a disconnected faith towards a more genuine walk with God?

  5. Read Matthew 25:31-40. What implications does it have for us that Jesus identifies so closely with the poor and needy?

  6. What should motivate us to care for the poor or those in need? Conversely, what holds you back from seeking to care for those in need?
