God's Calling On Our Lives (Afternoon)

Jeremiah 1

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. What most stands out to you in the Scripture and why?

  2. How does it affect you to read in Jeremiah 1:5 that even before you were born the Lord chose you, knew you, and had a plan for your life?

  3. How does the assertion that the Lord has always known you and had a plan for your life affect the way you view your current life circumstances?

  4. Would you say that you mostly live your life as someone God has called and given a purpose? Why or why not?

  5. Reread Jeremiah 1:6-8. What excuses are you tempted to make (or what things do you think you lack) that keep you from declaring the Word of God to others?

  6. Reread Jeremiah 1:9-10. What do you find encouraging about God's response to us when we shrink back from ministry? What do you find convicting?

  7. Finally, reread Jeremiah 1:19 and Matthew 28:18-20. In what ways does the Lord honor his promise to be "with us?" How can the Lord's presence with us transform how we approach ministry and evangelism?
