Our Call to Holiness (Morning)

Discussion Questions

  1. What most stands out to you in the Scripture as particularly encouraging, challenging, confusing, or otherwise noteworthy?

  2. Peter commands believers to “prepare your minds for action” and to be “sober-minded” (v.13). What do you think those phrases mean practically and why are they important for the Christian life?

  3. Would you describe yourself as being both sober-minded and ready for action in your faith right now? Why or why not?

  4. Reread 1 Peter 1:13. How do you react or respond to Joel's comment that "hope is the cure for our anxieties because anxiety comes from uncertainty about the future?"

  5. How would you describe the contrast between a life shaped by our "former ignorance" (v. 14) and a life of "holiness" (v.15-16)?

  6. Over the last few years how has the Lord grown you in holiness? Said another way, in what ways do you look more like your heavenly father now than you did a few years ago?

  7. How do you hope you look more like your heavenly father (or how do you hope to grow in holiness) over the next couple of years?
