In these opening verses, Peter emphasizes the identity of believers. Why is a clear understanding of our identity so important when facing hardship or opposition?
In verse 1, Peter identifies his readers as “elect exiles.” What comes to mind or what reactions do you have when you hear this phrase?
Is there a time that you have personally felt or sensed that you were chosen or called by God? How should it affect the way we approach our lives to know that God has chosen and called us?
Peter's calls his readers "exiles," echoing Israel’s experience in the wilderness. What does it mean to live as an exile in today’s world?
