What most stands out to you from this passage, and why?
This passage is a lament, which is a prayer of pain crafted to help us process suffering. How comfortable do you feel praying your pain to God? Why or why not?
In the first 18 verses, Jeremiah uses poetic imagery to describe the suffering God has given him. Do any of these phrases or images resonate with an experience of suffering that you've had? Or are you currently going through suffering that makes you feel this way?
In verse 18, Jeremiah feels like his hope has vanished; but in verse 21, he says, "this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope." What does Jeremiah remind himself of to give himself hope?

The Hebrew word for "steadfast love" in verse 22 is hesed which The Jesus Storybook Bible translates as God's "never-stopping, never giving up, unbreaking, always and forever love." What are some verses or truths that help you remember that love for you?
